Doujinshi loot

At last, I got all the shipments of doujinshi that I was buying in the last couple of months.

Those are mostly Comic Market 78 releases, among a few C77 things that I didn't have enough money to buy in January and some C76 Valkyria Chronicles doujinshi.

In detail:

As usual, the works by Kikuta Kouji from circle King Revolver: Mikka Ato ni Inami-chan (featuring Mahiru, Izumi and Maya from Working!!) and Taisa no ga Notteimasu (featuring bikini Selvaria from Valkyria Chronicles).

I said previously that I systematically buy all his releases, even when features series, like Working!!, that I didn't watched.

Dai Nana Chijo Buntai, a Valkyria Chronicles book by Ogata Mamimi from circle Suginami Sakura.

I found Ogata Mamimi's works at Pixiv, bookmarked as favorite by Kikuta.
He doesn't have much work released despite being active as a doujinshi author since at least 1996. Most of his works were released at the circle AirΦpraitre, and his main themes are huge breast and bukkake.

The Touhou doujinshi Hakuro Douchuu and Parsee Shitto Mousou by Tsukiwani of Circle Nurumaya.

Hakuro Douchuu is like the "epilogue" of his delusional ladies series; Eirin, Yukari and Yuyuko enters in a dream of Kanako. Parsee Neta Mousou features Parsee, Yuugi and Satori.

Yuzuki N Dash (circle Lv. X+) works: Boku no Subete wo Taisa ni Sasagu (starring Selvaria), the C78 bonus Omake no Alicia-san Hon, featuring Valkyria Chronicles 2 version of Alicia, a stick poster of Anisette (Licorice in Japan), a bag featuring the valkyria loli Aliasse and the commercial work Another World.

I hardly ever buy original works (I prefer parodies of works that I already know), but Yuzuki N' latest works are growing on me...

Inue Shinsuke (circle Jingai Makyou) V Senjou Heaven's Door, a Valkyria Chronicles book sold at C76, and the omake book Watashi wa Watashi, a Valkyria Chronicles 2 book featuring Alexis, sold at C78.

I discovered Inue Shinsuke works because of some artwork he made for Fate/Zero. His doujinshi works are rather scarce, and his most recurrent theme is gangbang.

Now is focused in his commercial works: the manga versions of Heavy Object and Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!.

Enikki Recycle 14, the blog entries compilation of A1 (Initial-G) compiling the second half of 2009. This time the omake booklet features Mami (iDOLM@STER 2 version) and Lynette from Strike Witches.

T-Moon Complex X 06 and T-Moon Complex X Soushuuhen II, that compiles the volumes 4, 5 and the old release T-Moon Complex S by Shirotsumekusa of circle Crazy Clover Club. As a bonus, a shitajiki featuring both covers.

It seems that the next one will be the last chapter, and after that he'll do Mahoutsukai no Yoru stuff.

The only interesting thing sold at the TYPE-MOON booth in C78 was the Mahoutsukai no Hako set, the rest was pointless stuff from Mahoutsukai no Yoru.

I don't have anything against Mahoyo, but as I said previously for me a TYPE-MOON work without the drawings by Takeuchi is not a TYPE-MOON work...
The contents are a mobile phone bag, some candies (inside the bag) , a sticker, a set of 4 coasters, a very small booklet, a metal badge and a mobile phone cleaner.

The small booklet includes a mini Mahoutsukai no Hako encyclopedia, a gallery and a rough sketches page. In the picture Hibiki and Chikagi cosplaying.

Kyoto, Haru, an enormous A3 sized doujinshi by Takeuchi Takashi and Kobayashi Jin under the doujin circle Rubicon Hearts sold at C77. The rest are Postscript of Kyoto in the spring copy book and a set of 5 postcards.

The main theme is, as the name implies, Kyoto in spring. The poster-like pages are really gorgeous and features several emblematic places from Kyoto. Since I lived there for a while, is nice to recognize the places, for example the place in the picture above is Tetsugaku no Michi.

Postscript of Kyoto in the spring, sold at Comitia 91, shows some setting materials for the doujinshi. According to this book, the name of the blond girl is Ariel.

Evangelion 2.0 Complete Records Collection

Evangelion 2.0 Complete Records Collection is a massive compilation of visual material used for the second Evangelion movie.

The contents are:

• 2 hard cover books with the material collection.
• 2 soft cover books with the storyboards.
• A box for the hard cover books.
• A film strip
• A tote bag (pre-order limited item)
  

The storyboards are divided in two books. The first one, called avant+A+B Part, covers until the eyecatch (232 pages) , and the second one called C+D Part covers until the end (292 pages).

This time the contents of the storyboards are almost all brand new, not like the ones for the first movie that was literally an amplified photocopy of the storyboards for the series. Only a few scenes like the fight against Bardiel or the first part of the Asuka and Rei elevator action are reusing the old storyboards.

The unfinished scenes that appeared as an extra in the blu-ray disc are also included. In the photo, Ritsuko says that Ayanami is always wearing the same plain underwear, and suggest her to ask Gendou to buy some cute ones. Rei responds that is unnecessary.

The most shocking scene at the end was not featured in the movie. Inside the Eva-03, the angel takes Asuka's face and says in Kaworu's voice that "a happy Asuka is not like you", then Asuka says that her happy self is scary and tries to put her usual face back.

The two hardcover books contains all the illustrated material and interviews. The Complete Records Collection for the first movie contained only one hard cover book, but this time is divided in two because the movie digest takes the whole of one of the books. Is called Film (362 pages) and is the entire movie scene by scene, with the dialogue when available.

At the end there's also included the music cue sheet marking when each track begins and ends, and the script of all the background dialog.

The second book is the biggest one, with 436 pages. The first part contains character designs, rough sketches, early concepts... pretty much all the visual reference for the movie.

The rest of the book is mostly interview with the movie staff raging from Anno and Sadamoto to the sub-directors and the image boards artist. I didn't read through all of it, but it contains several unused storyboard ideas, some of them quite interesting.

At the end of each hard cover book, there are a couple of foldout posters drawn by Sadamoto.

Annin Doufu Illust Works - BRILLIANT IDOL

Next in the review list is Annin Doufu Illust Works - BRILLIANT IDOL artbook.

This book collects five years of Annin Doufu's drawings for THE iDOLM@STER.
iM@S character designer is Kubooka Toshiyuki, and he's the one responsible for the main illustrations such as game covers and character profiles pictures, but Annin Doufu does the pictures for the merchandising, the CD jackets and the inserts in magazines. In the last couple of years, she became the main illustrator for the series.

The full version of the cover, that features both the 765 Pro girls (+Takane and Hibiki) and the 876 Pro girls (and boy).

The book have a weird format, is a regular DIN A4 size but horizontal instead of vertical, and contains 151 full color pages.
The contents are divided in art from CD jackets (56 pages), art from the Weiβ Schwarz cards (16 pages), art from magazines (38 pages), and art from official items like calendars and the pictures from the mobile phones website (24 pages).
The oldest picture is from late 2005 and the newest is from this year's January.

Most of the cd jackets pictures includes several rough sketches that shows the evolution of the original idea.

Includes also the Master Special series, up to the Master Special Spring.

Kara no Kyoukai: Boukyaku Rokuon E-conte Shuu

After more than a year and half hiatus, the e-conte collection (storyboards) for the Kara no Kyoukai movies are on the move again.


The storyboard of Kara no Kyoukai 6th movie, Boukyaku Rokuon, was released at the end of September. The drawings are this time mostly done by the director Miura Takahiro.

Moe Azaka is moe.

Boukyaku Rokuon was the weakest of all the movies in terms of fidelity to the novel; Kurogiri Satsuki role was heavily downgraded to the point that his fate after the battle against Shiki was left unexplained and the enjo kousai of the Reien Academy girls and pregnancy of Kaori was changed with a more tame drugs incident...

Type-Moon Ace 5

Released in June, Type-Moon Ace Vol. 5 was focused in Mahoutsukai No Yoru, that was supposed to be released in September and now is slated with the vague "Winter 2010".

The two extras included are a Fate/EXTRA reversible poster and a Mahoutsukai No Yoru small tapestry:
