Update 2: Doujinshi & Manga

Following my one year update, this entry covers manga and doujinshi.

MANGA

I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff, for example right after I took the photos I remembered I bought a few English manga published by Udon (3 Capcom anthologies by Itou Mami, Street Fighter 5 and 6 and  Darkstalkers 2) that are not in the photos. The rest (or at least the rest I remember) are:

The extremely delayed Kannagi 7 by Takenashi Eri (volume 6 was released in November '08), limited and regular editions of Evangelion 13 by Sadamoto (one more to go), a new volume of All Around Type-Moon manga by Bsuke, Fate/Extra volume 3 by Robina, regular edition of volume 3, 4 and 5 of Fate/Zero by Shinjiro, Fate/Kaleid Liner Prism☆Illya 2wei! Vol. 5 (last one from 2wei series) and the first volume from Prism☆Illya 3wei!! by Hiroyama HiroshiFate/stay night volume 18 to 20 by Nishiwaki Datto (finished at last!), volumes 1 and 2 of Love Plus Manaka Days by Akitsu Mikami (I liked Love Plus quite a bit), Fujima Takuya's Idolm@ster Break! Vol. 2 to 4 (I bought the first volume years ago during my iM@S fever peak), Tenshi no Oshigoto 1 by Satoh Ryoryo (because contains one page collaboration by Takeuchi Takashi) and the ero-manga Fella Pure by Fue.

Spanish edition manga: Takahashi Rumiko's The One Pound Gospel, the last 6 volumes of Inuyasha (completed at last, I had this series on hold for almost 3 years), Sakura Taisen volumes 1 to 9 drawn by Ouji Hiroi (at a bargain price, I bought the whole series for 23 euro) and the two last volumes of Mazinger Z.

DOUJINSHI

I'll skip some stuff here, since the photos I have are only for the items I bought from Comic Market 82 and 83.

Comiket 82:

Comiket 83:

Pretty much the works from the circles I regularly follow: Zettai Shoujo, King Revolver, Nurumaya, Kurusugawa Pikumin Tei, Crazy Clover Club, the now defunct circle Konton Lady StudioChotto Dake Aru Yo., Kuroyuki, plus the works from circles that I follow sporadically (mostly when they parody series I like): Lv. X+, Jingai Makyou and Shinjugai.

Goodbye

This announcement has been coming for a long time. When I returned from Japan back in September of 2009 I lost half the will to keep with the blog, and that will was getting weaker and weaker until about a year ago, when I totally lost all of it.

I didn’t want to say it, and pretty much forced myself to keep with the blog, mostly as a token of gratitude to my followers, the people that I know in person and reads this blog from time to time and the people that keeps writting constructive comments... I’ve been trying to keep up to date this blog for quite a few months, lately I tried to increase the number of posts each month and even tried new things like doing the Mahou Tsukai no Yoru summary in "real time" but with no luck and forcing myself to do it just makes me loath it all the more.

Recently I got diagnosed a nervous breakdown. Now I'm reconsidering the priorities in my life and this blog is not in the top. I want to have one less pressure on my shoulders for now, one less stress so I can try and get myself back together once more.

So Soth's Blog is going on indefinite hiatus. I may return in a couple of months, a couple of years or perhaps I move to another chapter in my life and drop this blog for good, I don't know.

So as a goodbye I'm going to post all the stuff I received months ago and was unable to do a proper review:

1/6 Saber Extra by Clayz (sculpted by Miyagawa Takeshi), 1/6 Caster Extra by Phat (sculpted by iTANDi), 1/8 Minase Iori Ryugu Komachi Ver. by Wave (sculpted by Abira) and 1/6 Ayanami Rei Cross Ver. by Amie Grand (sculpted by Suzu)

Valkyria Chronicles 3 Extra Edition for PSP (not played),  Valkyria Chronicles 3 Complete Artworks (not opened to avoid spoilers), and the limited Black Label edition OVAs in Blu-ray (not even unwrapped).

Fate/complete material V Hollow material and Carnival Phantasm Official Guidebook

THE iDOLM@STER Character Master, THE iDOLM@STER Platinum Album, THE iDOLM@STER DS Delicious Album, Marugoto iDOLM@STER For You! and THE iDOLM@STER Twins Precious Album Guidebook

Doujinshi from circles Nurumaya, King Revolver and Kurusugawa Pikumin Tei

TYPE-MOON manga: Shingetsutan Tsukihime volumes 7 to 10, Fate/stay night volume 17, All Around Type-Moon manga, the paperback version of Kara no Kyoukai Mirai Fukuin chapter and several postcards that are Tora no Ana store exclusives.

Well, it's all for now. I hope to see you guys as soon as utterly possible,

Soth

Comiket 77 loot (sort of)

On November, I sold over 150 volumes from my manga collection to raise funds for the new Comic Market 77 releases and stuff released in December and January.
Some of the series that I sold was because I got tired (Naruto, Tenjou Tenge), some of them was because there's no visible end in a long term future (One Piece) and some of them because for some reason I was never happy with it (Ai Yori Aoshi).
At the end I managed to get enough money to do almost all the purchases that I wanted via Yahoo! Auctions and some on-line shops.

The full color Kara no Kyoukai Gengashuu Kessaku Sen 3, containing key animations from the Kara no Kyoukai movies 6 and 7.

The ending scene.

A cute plush of Liang Pi, the chibi virtual version of Liang Qi that appeared in CANAAN episode 6.

The last volume of Fate/Zero Drama Cd and a box to contain all 4 volumes.

By far the most expensive item of this lot, Tsukihime Tsuushin Vol.2, a 4 pages leaflet that was a Tsukihime mail order privilege in 2001 and is available online in the old version of TYPE-MOON webpage. With this I have all 3 released!
T-Moon Complex X Soushuuhen 01 02 03, a compilation of the first 3 volumes of T-Moon Complex X crossover by Shirotsumekusa of circle Crazy Clover Club. Also included the convention only bonus C77 Omake Bon and an Arcueid and Saber clear posters.

Both posters displayed in the wall.

The picture diary compilation Enikki Recycle 13 and the omake book Dildo Stars (iDOLM@STER Dearly Stars) by A1 of Initial-G.

Sichimenchou from circle Kurusugawa Pikumintei works; the compilation of his blog entries Enikki Shuuroku CG Shuu and the copy-hon Aru Mousou no Sekaisen, a pin-up collection of the girls from the Xbox game Steins;Gate.

Cho Rakugaki 2009 Fuyu, a compilation of Tetsu works from circle Kimuchi. Sadly is even shorter than usual...

Ecchina Cosplay Asuka wo Meshiagare by Tsukimi Daifuku of the circle Shimekiri Sanpunmae.
Shortly before C76, I did a questionnaire in their homepage and complained about the lack of Evangelion... After that, the new release was this nice doujinshi starring a docile cosplayer Asuka. I want to believe that it was thanks to me...

2000---2009, a compilation of works by A-10 from the circle Gadget Koubou.
I don't recall when and how I found this circle, I think it was in 2001 when I found a scan of his doujin slow mo (included in this compilation) but may be even earlier.
A-10 is active since -at least- mid nineties and he does a lot of parodies with Iris from Sakura Taisen, Ishizu Moe from Gunparade March, Galadriel from Princess Crown and, oddly enough, Pastel and Princess Melora from TwinBee.

One of the few non-explicit pages.

His works have some weird fetishes (panty and body sniffing, crossdressing, girls getting laid while sleeping and/or drugged...), but his drawing style always keeps a "classical" feeling that I find very appealing.
Is the first time his works are sold at consignment shops (I purchased this via Tora no Ana webshop), so until now his doujinshi are usually sold for 1000-4000 yen at second hand shops. Because of that, even if this is not a complete compilation (he does a lot of colaborations in diferent circles), the 11 works included are really worth it.

Izurikona and Copy Hon Soushuuhen 3 by Kikuta Kouji of circle King Revolver. I also ordered the doujinshi Oute, but Shopping Mall Japan forgot to add it in this shipment...

More from the "Delusional Ladies series" by Tsukiwani from Circle Nurumaya; Yuukarin Yume Mosou, released for the Comiket 77, starring Yuuka and featuring Cirno and Wriggle, and Eikikki Yume Mousou, a Comic Treasure 15 release starring Shikieiki and featuring Komachi and Marisa.

And a box of Weiß Schwarz cards, THE IDOLM@STER Dearly Stars Extra Pack. Missing 12 for a non parallel full set.

I got an expensive parallel signed card of Ryo!

Comiket 76 coverage - Day 3

The last Comiket day is mostly focused in ero contents and is the most crowded day. I limited my purchases because I lacked space (I ended with 32 kg in my luggage), money (I only had 30,000 yen, and I didn't wanted to take more money from an ATM only to change it in euro at my arrival) or enough time to redo my luggage (my flight was at 10 AM the day after).

In detail:

Aphrodisiac by tsuina (circle Tear Drop) was my top priority pick and the first place I went. Not only because I love his works, but this was his first all-color doujinshi and was focused on the Kurusugawa sisters and Serio!
In order to keep this blog at a moderately SFW level, I never upload pictures of the contents of the R-18 doujinshi that I buy, but sample pages are available at his website.

T-MOON COMPLEX X5
by Shirotsumekusa (circle CRAZY CLOVER CLUB). I still find this series rather uninspired, I hope once is finished he will return to gag or ero...

Milk Masters 2 by Kakyouin Chiroru from circle Kuro Yuki. I only watched the first two seasons of Futari Wa Pretty Cure, so I barely know the characters of the newer seasons and even I didn't know who was Kurumi in this doujinshi... Milk Masters follows the history of Milk Hunters series by the same circle.

Gang the Bandits by Saint Germain Saru from circle Shin Nihon Pepsitou, a circle focused on gang rape situations with fighting game characters.
Lately he was completely obsessed with Angel from King of Fighters, and since I don't like SNK characters that much I lost track of his newer works. Is nice to see some change, but I prefer when he does Capcom...

Izurumi from circle Nakayohi latest book, Miesugi T-Plugsuit and the omake book. Mostly an Asuka with the new test plugsuit pin-up collection (with 2 Mari pics). The bonus book is just the draft version of it.

Enikki Recycle 12, the usual biannual blog entries compilation of A1 (Initial-G). This time the omake book is about Yayoi and Hibiki from Idolm@ster.

Sichimechou from circle Kurusugawa Pikumin Tei works: the Comic 1 release Akai Akuma Wo Ijittemiyou!, the new release Kanojo-san To Issho (featuring the Houkago Play nameless girl) and the copy book Yume Club (Dream C Club).
Sichimenchou, like Kikuta, is another author that I found because he still draws Serio and Kurusugawa Ayaka, and is the only author that I keep visiting his diary since 2000 (mostly because he doesn't preserve his pictures, that are deleted at random intervals).

Tsukiwani from Circle Nuruma-ya works; his first doujin Yukarin Yume Mousou and the new release Yuyu-sama Yume Mousou.
I already talked about him and his doujinshi. His circle is only active since the past Winter Comiket and he only released 3 doujinshi. His clean art is pretty characteristic, and all his doujinshi until now are focused in the more "onee sama" characters of Touhou universe (Yukari, Kanako and Yuyuko) acting extremely naively towards sex.

A cd with two CG sets: Tokimeke! Lockhart and Minimum Style that was sold at the circle Toushiryoku Laboratory booth, maker of the doujin games Tifatan X and Tifatan X2.
Tokimeke! Lockhart is drawn by Toushiryoku and is Tifa only, while Minimum Style is drawn by Konpet and features the loli characters from Final Fantasy 4, 5, 6 and 9.

Kirihara Kotori (circle Shoujo Hyouhon) works. The new releases Kedamono No Kodomotachi and Pocket Ni Itsumo Uta-hime Wo and the Comitia release Chocolat.
Kirihara Kotori is a close friend of TYPE-MOON staff, specially Takeuchi Takashi, so him, OSKG and even Nasu Kinoko did collaborations in her doujinshi at one point or another.
At first I began to buy her works only for the collaborations. I disliked her shoujo-ish drawings, but after a while I got hooked to her works. She indistinctively made ero and non ero stories, and are fairly interesting.

And of course Kikuta Kouji works from circle King Revolver: Space R, the copy book Neck Hunter and the signed shikishi with Serio that he drew for me. I'm very, very grateful to Kikuta who acceded to draw it even when he was without sleep and alone in the booth. ありがと、 キクタ先生!

Goodbye, Japan

Tomorrow morning I leave Japan.

This past few days were really tiring, waking up everyday at 4 AM to be in time to begin the queue for the Comiket at about 6 AM, and then wait under the sun until 10 AM when they open the doors...

I can't make an extensive post because right now I'm in a bunk, in a shared dormitory in an Asakusa hostal, but here's a quick photo of part of my Comic Market 76 loot (the stuff that I'll bring in the plane as a handbag).

I'm specially happy with the Serio shikishi drawn for me by Kikuta from circle King Revolver!

Once in Spain I'll do a proper coverage.
